About the Job
We are seeking a skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Albany VA Healthcare System. As a Primary Care Physician, you will provide onsite primary care services to eligible beneficiaries at our Community Based Outpatient Center in Fonda, NY.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for delivering high-quality patient care and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our clinic staff to schedule new and follow-up patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, and order laboratory tests as needed.
In this role, you will also be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive primary care services, including women's health
- Working with clinic staff to schedule new and follow-up patients
- Taking history, performing physical examinations, ordering of laboratories and diagnostic studies
- Determining the appropriate course of treatment and communicating with referring clinicians
- Initiating social work referrals for identified homeless patients
- FOLLOWING ALL ESTABLISHED MEDICATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Responsibilities
- Provide primary care services supporting a continuum of care from prevention to diagnosis and treatment
- Work with clinic staff to schedule new and follow-up patients
- Taking history, performing physical examinations, ordering of laboratories and diagnostic studies
- Determining the appropriate course of treatment and communicating with referring clinicians
- Initiating social work referrals for identified homeless patients
- FOLLOWING ALL ESTABLISHED MEDICATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Active, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory
- Active NPI report
- Active DEA license
- Active AHA BLS
- NPDB report
- MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A FEDERAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION
