Description

The Ararat Ridge Zoo at the Ark Encounter exists to be a world-class zoo providing guests with experiences and education that inspire a biblical understanding of creation, highlight the purpose of God's design, and promote stewardship of creation. The seasonal animal health zookeeper contributes to a positive experience for the guests visiting the zoo. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about serving others. The candidate will assist with animal health duties including sample collection, medication administration, and assistance with procedures. The seasonal animal health zookeeper keeper will be assigned to monitor contact areas in the zoo ensuring safety and assisting guests.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
• Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
• Must be friendly and courteous to guests.
• Staff contact areas throughout the zoo, providing excellent customer service to guests.
• Feel comfortable assisting with medical tasks, procedures, and preparing/administering medications
• Be willing to handle and run tests on various samples taken from animals
• Must be able to record accurate and detailed medical records
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Ensure the safety and care of the animals and the guests or other employees.
• And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Education & Experience

• Must have a minimum of one year of work in an animal care environment and/or pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in zoology or related field.
• Prior experience working in an animal health field is preferred
