Description
The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal, and professional development of the student. As an Assistant Buyer Embark Intern the student will support the daily operational functions of the supply chain. This includes supporting the buying and merchandising team in managing the overall merchandise flow. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.
Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
- Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
- Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
- Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
- Participate in life skills development courses provided for Embark Interns
- Participate in Learning & Development apologetics training
- Serve in the attraction operation departments to display our SERVE core value
- Effectively utilize merchandising systems and understand warehouse processes. Includes utilizing systems and preparation of reporting to allow for interpretation of the business.
- Aid Buyer with Sample Management.
- Work with computer systems, SAP and Microsoft Excel.
- Perform the administrative & operational functions supporting a designated buyer.
- Handle purchase order management and administration as well as processing markdowns. This includes the creation of orders, changes, cancellations, and necessary follow-up (both internally and externally) to ensure key shipments are delivered and processed.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
- Excellent organization and ability to work well in a team environment.
Education & Experience
- Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits
- Must be currently pursuing a degree
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
