JOB TITLE: Athletics and Extracurricular Director
REPORTS TO: School Administrator
LOCATION: Erlanger KY
As a young school (currently in our 6th year), we are excited to add this layer on to our program. The primary focus of the Athletics and Extracurricular Director is to develop, manage, oversee, and coordinate all aspects of the school’s sports and extracurricular program with professionalism, mission-focused vision, and integrity that provides a Christ centered, biblically focused environment.
This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference. This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. Requirements
- Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
- Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40)
- Show by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ
- Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and to grow in their faith
- Possess the ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and other school staff to develop a unified and successful program
- Demonstrate the ability to accept and carry out responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions
- Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children's education and be prepared to assist them in that task

- Provide executive leadership and oversight that successfully launches, grows, and continually improves the school’s athletic and extracurricular program
- Coordinate the school’s programs in collaboration with the administrator and coaches to
- ascertain programmatic needs on an annual basis, as well as prior to each season to ensure consistency of program
- Initiates the recruitment and selection of coaches and makes recommendations to the Administrator
- Coach as needed
- Supervises and evaluates all coaches with major focus of building rapport and buy-in for program growth
- Schedules all athletic events, schedules officials/referees for home games, and maintains the proper and necessary records to ensure sports programs are compliant with regulations
- Arrange transportation for all away games
- Works with administration on the athletic budget
- Prioritizes safety as a main objective for athletes and coaches, ensuring adherence to all medical and safety requirements
- Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and parents and resolves conflict in a professional and biblical manner
- Work with the homeschool community for additional players to form a team
- Ensure that all aspects of the athletic department and extracurricular activities advance the vision, values, and philosophy of the school
- Supervises the preparation and verifies all athletic eligibility lists, ensuring all athletes are eligible, insured and have paid fees
- Supervises athletic games and acts as the host to officials and visiting schools
- Advises and ensures all coaches conform with league policies and regulations and with state and federal laws
- Attend in-service meetings, league meetings, and other athletic meetings as required.
- Ensures all coaches have successfully completed required training/orientation programs
- Implement fundraising activities to help secure resources to support individual sports and/or the athletic department
- Teach K-8th grade PE (once a week for each grade) and the high school elective PE (0.5 credit)
- Mentoring heart for the students and help them grow biblically and spiritually
- Instilling great teamwork and sportsmanship skills and bringing accountability for a Christ-honoring perspective, attitude, and conduct

Education & Experience
- Experience in planning and implementing an Athletics Program
- Preferably to have a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in physical education, sports management, exercise science, or a related area
- Preferably to have 1-3 years of teaching, coaching, and/or sports management experience
