HQ Facilities Maintenance Technician Full Time

The Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) is responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, upkeep and repair on building equipment and infrastructure systems. The FMT assists the Director of Facilities (DF) to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, lighting systems, and ministry vehicles. The FMT will perform other duties as required and assist in other departments as needed.

They must possess the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining pleasant, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equal. important, and they must work independently with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.

• Assist the DF in maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, lighting systems, and electrical
• systems, plumbing, emergency generator, and material handling/dock equipment.
• Assist with daily maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting, and providing preventative
• maintenance, as well as maintaining efficiency and safety of all building parts and
• equipment.
• Perform repairs, replacements, preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
• and facility assets.
• Organize, clean, and maintain all tools and equipment used by the facilities department.
• Perform standard maintenance on all ministry grounds vehicles.
• Identify and assess key areas for possible improvement, involving the facility
• maintenance, which includes but not limited to painting, tile work, drywall repair and
• installation.
• Routinely inspect and maintain the building and structures on the grounds.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and organized work area.
• Participate in all relevant training and staff meetings.
• Assist in housekeeping efforts if needed.
• And all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
• Physical exertion requires standing and walking all day, repeated bending and lifting, and the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals supplies and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Must be dependable and adapt to changing work priorities and flexible work hours.
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have reliable transportation and a current driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must be able to work routine perform tasks using ladders and Man Lifts; heights can be up to 30-feet off the ground.

Education & Experience

• Any combination of education or job-related experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform tasks.
• Previous experience performing light maintenance and janitorial services preferred.
