About the Role
AnswersNow is seeking a mission-critical Director of Business Operations and State Expansion to drive operational expansion of AnswersNow’s ABA telehealth network across the U.S. This role will be accountable for overseeing and ensuring the successful implementation of new states and payers, drive supply and demand forecasting to support those expansions, and monitor metrics across our provider team to ensure alignment with business growth. The role will also provide analytical and data-driven horsepower to help drive operational excellence, company scale, and OKR planning.
This role will report to the VP of Operations and is highly cross-functional, partnering with the executive team and multiple departments across the Company.
What You Will Do
- Business Operations: Develop and implement operational strategies to support company growth and enhance performance. Analyze clinical KPIs and metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Supply and Demand Planning: Develop and manage supply and demand forecasts, incorporating cost of care analysis and state/payer-specific hiring recommendations. Ensure AnswerNow's ABA network capacity meets current and projected demand, including expansion into new states.
- State Expansion: Collaborate with key business functions (Clinical, Technology, Product, and Finance) to develop and implement state expansion strategies aligned with company forecasts and the annual operating plan. Manage the operational execution of state launches and provide regular updates to key stakeholders, including the C-Suite, on timelines and milestones.
Primary Job Duties
Biz Ops
- Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
- Develop, document, and implement standardized workflows to increase efficiency across Operations and Care Delivery
- Design and monitor KPIs to evaluate process performance and outcomes
- Generate reports for leadership, showcasing trends, progress and recommendations for change or improvement
- Develop and leverage frameworks to help structure the team's thinking, facilitate alignment across various stakeholders, and identify 80/20 opportunities to reach insightful, actionable answers without analysis overload
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within operations
Supply and Demand Planning
- Drive supply and demand forecasting for our BCBA network and ensure that AnswersNow has adequate supply to meet demand while maintaining optimal wait times across all states and payers
- Work closely with Finance to optimize key reporting metrics
- Collaborate with Growth, Finance, RCM, and Care Talent on hiring, licensing, and credentialing targets
State Expansion
- Drive and project manage the steps and due diligence needed to expand into a new state
- Manage relationships with existing payers
- Establish external relationships and personally gain access to key payer contacts
- Collaborate with Growth, Operations, Finance, and RCM teams to ensure successful state expansion
- Understand the nuances of payer requirements in each state of expansion, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Assist in development of policies and procedures for payer contracting that meet market demands and are consistent with the needs of AnswersNow’s stakeholders
Required Skills
- ABA telehealth experience preferred
- 5 years of experience working in health plans, health systems, or provider organizations
- Thorough understanding of managed care insurance products (Commercial and Medicaid offerings) and their financial impacts on payers and providers; understanding of contracting processes and operations required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, develop financial models, and communicate insights to stakeholders
- Adept at working in a remote-first environment, establishing connections and relationships throughout the organization
- Able to grasp both clinical and business concepts
- Strong project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects and urgent deliverables
- Strategic and flexible thinker who assesses situations carefully and delivers scalable recommendations and results
- Must comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations
- MBA strongly preferred
