Summary / Role Purpose
Ansys Government Initiatives (AGI) is seeking a passionate Lead Application Engineer (AE) to join our Ansys Customer Excellence (ACE) team. The AE will be focused on ongoing support of existing customers, working on current high value projects / programs. This includes integrating and automating Ansys’ commercial simulation software tools to meet specific customer requirements for design, engineering, and operations in the Aerospace and Defense market. The AE will also be engaged in new growth opportunities to drive further adoption of Digital Mission Engineering (DME) software into key organizations. As part of this team, you will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of our solutions. You will collaborate closely with our project managers, engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions that empower engineers, analysts, and operators in extracting maximum insights from their simulations.
Currently, AGI is searching for experienced candidates with a desire to make a meaningful contribution to the Aerospace and Defense community and who have the technical and interpersonal skills required to do so in our fast-paced work environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Become a product expert in the Digital Mission Engineering (DME) family of products, work with customers to understand their engineering or operational requirements; analyze how to address customers’ requirements using Ansys products; articulate Ansys’ value proposition.
- Work onsite with customers to implement software best practices and address real-world problems
- Design / develop programming user interfaces, automation scripts and integration code in support of customer applications
- Investigate, make recommendations, and help execute the customer’s chosen simulation approaches
- Training of designated personnel on the operation and facilitation of events utilizing our software
- Operate as part of a dynamic team of engineers, software developers and business professionals to assist customers in performing analyses, solving problems, and integrating and deploying custom solutions
- Provide onsite technical / engineering support of our tools during customer exercises, rehearsals and drills
- Investigate / understand how to integrate our software with DoD space trainers and simulations
- Work with strategic customers or partners to assess needs and develop solutions
- Support accreditation efforts on US Government (USG) networks
- Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support
