SUMMARY

The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and advance the state of our SSDLC identification, infrastructure, Maintenace, and management. The successful candidate will have knowledge of technical SSDLC concepts and will design, implement, and maintain next-generation cross platform scripts and applications. They will be responsible for full stack development within a complex Development and DevOps environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of TP / OSS integration and overall software architecture.

Front-End GUI analysis and design in 1 or more programming languages (Java, Python, C )

Back-End scripts to drive automation

Understands and employs best practices

Be capable of creating cross-platform applications and scripts (Windows and Linux)

Understands the customer and securityrequirements for a product

Stay up to date with current CVE's, SBOM's, and SSDLC practices

Tracking, identifying, and communicating new and / or critical updates and deadlines

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, or other STEM disciplines with 1-2 years' experience

Cross platform (Windows and Linux) Front-End applications knowledge

Good understanding and skills in object-oriented programming

Scripting experience

Experience in SSDLC best practices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Python or C

Cross platform full stack development

Experience developing desktop applications and scripts

Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment

Understanding of DevOps principles (Conan, Builds, Version Control Systems, SSDLC practices)

Willingness to learn new technologies and drive innovation

Good communication and interpersonal skills
