The ITS/Smart Mobility Project Manager will apply expert knowledge to work on complex projects and task orders, serving as project manager, task lead, or in a major role for ITS design and systems engineering tasks. The manager will serve from the start to the end of projects, mentoring and training junior staff as needed. Projects may range from $30,000 task orders to jobs with engineering fees over $1 million. Responsible for delivering all project objectives including scope, schedule and budget.
Tasks
- Lead preparation of systems engineering documents, feasibility studies, and design plans
- Develop deployment plans for traffic control equipment, communications, and ITS systems
- Work on projects involving ITS, connected/autonomous vehicles, and traffic management
- Manage budgets, schedules, quality, subconsultants, and client relationships
- Oversee staff, support proposals, and lead team development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain in other states
- 10 years’ experience in ITS or Smart Mobility
- Client experience with MPOs, DOTs, federal/state/local agencies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Project
- Experience in systems engineering, TSMO, SCADA, traffic signal & freeway systems
- Familiarity with MUTCD, NEMA, NTCIP, SAE, IEEE standards
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or INCOSE systems engineering certification
- Project management and business development experience
- Experience with cloud-based TSMO software or hybrid systems
- Familiarity with ARC-IT, RAD-IT, SET-IT tools
- Active involvement in ITS-related organizations
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based (95%), occasional field work required
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Exposure to various weather conditions during site visits
Salary : $151,000 - $170,000
