What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Compliance Project Manager position at Antea Group?
Antea USA, Inc. (Antea®Group) is seeking an Environmental Compliance Project Manager or Senior Project Manager in one of the following locations: St. Paul, MN; Fort Collins, CO; Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; or St. Louis, MO.
This (Senior) Project Manager position will support multinational clients with the development, implementation, and management of their global Environmental Compliance. We desire an experienced candidate with demonstrated skillsets in areas such as: Environmental Regulatory Compliance, including but not limited to; hazardous waste requirements, EPCRA Reporting; Air Emissions, CWA (NPDES Permitting, SWPPP, SPCC, etc.); Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001); and environmental compliance auditing. Candidates with Technology, Bio tech and/or Manufacturing industry experience are desired. In addition, strong organizational skills, as well as exemplary written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Where will I work?
This position can be remote, however if an Antea Group office is located within close proximity, a flexible work model will be expected. If a hybrid work environment, it is expected that this position report to the office periodically and/or as requested for in-person meetings, mentorship, and collaboration with other team members. Project work will require up to 50% local, regional, and/or overnight travel for facility visits and onsite audits.
Typical job assignments may include but are not limited to:
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing facility specific to global environmental programs and procedures for a wide variety of industries; including manufacturing, technology, food & beverage, bio-pharma, oil & gas, and chemical.
- Preparing and reviewing corporate and site-specific written environmental programs and plans.
- Conducting and/or reviewing environmental audits and audit programs.
- Conducting EHS auditing at client locations (manufacturing, warehouse, data center); requires a strong technical and practical understanding of EPA regulations; and working knowledge of OSHA requirements.
- Developing compliance recommendations based on regulatory research and interpretation.
- Developing and presenting environmental program/plan training modules.
- Working closely with clients to develop proposals and project cost estimates.
Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or related Science field. Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics is a plus.
- 5-10 years of experience working with organizational environmental compliance, ideally on a global scale.
- Must have a deep understanding of EPA/State Specific regulations and their applicability.
- Certified STI SP001 AST Inspector is a plus
- Further understanding of OSHA, NFPA, and/or DOT.
- EHS consulting experience is a plus.
- Professional certification in a related field (PE, PG, LEP, LSP, LSRP) a plus
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is required (and can be provided for the right candidate)

Physical Requirements / Work Environment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:
- Sedentary to light work (typical office or administrative work)
- Frequently required to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional lifting and carrying of low (under 25lbs) to moderate (25-49lbs) weight objects
- Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers (including reaching)
- Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change)
- Operation of motor vehicle.
Additionally, if you are assigned work in the field at client project sites you will need to complete a medical surveillance/fitness-for-duty examination and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
- Medium to heavy work
- Subject to outside environmental conditions: heat/cold, wind, wet and/or humid, etc.
- Occasional stooping (bending body downward and forward), kneeling (bending legs at the knee), crouching (bending body downward and forward), and climbing
- Frequent lifting (including push/pull, hold/carry) of light, moderate, and possibly heavy-weight objects
- Subject to hazards, including a variety of physical conditions, including but not limited to: proximity to moving vehicles, parts, or equipment; exposure to chemicals; pressure (including noise); electrical hazards; biological hazards; excavation/trenching; confined spaces; elevated work; materials handling
- May be required to wear an air-purifying respirator
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The annual salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00. Compensation will vary depending on the applicant’s job-related knowledge and skills, education, and work experience.
