Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Purchasing Clerk in our Laurel, MD facility, who provides office support to the Purchasing Department with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Purchasing Clerk will be responsible for data entry, creating and generating purchase orders. The Purchasing Clerk aids in the coordination between the planning team, production team, and warehouse team regarding open orders and delivery statuses.
Job Responsibilities

- Perform data, entry, tracking issues with specific vendors and communicating with buyers.
- Process reminders and order confirmations.
- Preparation and processing of purchase orders and corresponding documents in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Responsible to track POs for full receipt over time and follow-up with incomplete or missing orders
- Complete various projects thoroughly by assigned deadline.
- Order supplies for office.
- Determine cause of any delays En-route and report to manager.
- Ability to interface with vendors and clients.
- Filing and Scanning of Purchase Order documents accordingly.
- Maintain complete and updated open Purchase Order reports.
- Maintain a neat, organized work area.

Experience and Skills
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
- 2 years of administrative and/or customer service experience required.
- Procurement experience is a definite plus, but not essential.
- Flexibility- ability to adapt and respond to changing tasks and responsibilities.
- Experience in CostPoint Purchasing Modules
- Intermediate Excel Skill and additional Computer Skills (Microsoft Suite- Word, Power Point etc.)
Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
