Location:  Remote opportunity from any of the Anthem States



Position requires availability Monday - Friday 8:00AM – 8:00PM for 8 hour shift. Shifts may change quarterly. Overtime required during peak season (Oct - Dec). The hiring shift is 10:00AM - 6:30PM. 



The Direct Sales Agent (Medicare Telesales)  is responsible for selling Individual or Senior (Medicare BU) Products telephonically and providing high level customer service. Primary duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Ensures sales goals are met
  • Sells company products in a professional and consultative manner
  • Provides thorough and effective customer service
  • Provides timely and accurate responses to all customers
  • Provides customers with oral and written information as well as a detailed quote on the company plans and services
  • Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of all company products and services
  • Studies competitive products and related industry issues and maintains a personal awareness of competitive advantages and disadvantages
  • Optimizes closing opportunities utilizing all sales tools and skills available
  • Completes accurate documentation maintains records and updates database documentation of all activities during the sales cycle
  • Ensures accurate documentation of leads and sales received from all sources
  • Maintains record keeping system and ensures all business is tracked throughout the underwriting process

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School diploma; 2 years of telesales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Must have and maintain a current active Life and Health license
  • Must maintain appropriate license required by the Department of Insurance to sell Medical Dental and Life products in all states served by the Company's Direct Sales. 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Telemarketing / telesales /call center experience strongly preferred
  • Medicare and Medicaid knowledge is a plus
  • Experience selling Medicare Supplements DSNP and Medicare Advantage plans
  • Must be comfortable working in a commission based sales role
  • Strong telephone skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient using Microsoft suite
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Bilingual with proficient reading and writing skills
  • May Require 5-10% Travel between October-December 

Paid time off may not be granted during the peak season of September 15th - December 31st.
