Location: Hanover/Baltimore, Maryland
Summary:
AMG is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Cost Estimator to support our construction management efforts. This is a senior-level, full-time position tailored for an experienced quantity takeoff professional with heavy civil and bridge experience. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of complex construction projects, coupled with strong takeoff/estimating acumen using onscreen takeoff/estimating software. This is not an entry-level role, but one designed for a seasoned professional who brings 10 years of direct experience in large-scale heavy civil projects.
Experience/Responsibilities:
- Must have at least 5 years of experience performing takeoffs for heavy civil and infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing GMP packets.
- Experience estimating roadway and bridge projects is a must.
- Experience with on screen takeoff software.
- Must have a thorough understanding and ability to read construction documents, including specifications, schematics, change orders, and submittals.
- The candidate must be open and flexible, take initiative and operate effectively with little oversight.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.
- Project/Construction management experience is a plus.
- Can work independently, meet established deadlines, and communicate effectively.
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Submit RFI's and/or Change Orders, as required
- Perform value-engineering (i.e., suggesting alternate and economical materials, methods, means, etc.)
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
BS in engineering discipline, construction management, or related field required
Background check and drug screen panel are required for this position
