What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Inspector position at Anthony Management Group?
Location : Elk Neck State Park, Cecil County, Maryland. No relocation assistance.
Education : B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Construction, Engineering or related field
Certifications :
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) - Preferred
May consider a certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) in lieu of a CSP with qualifying credentials
Valid OSHA-30 Certificate - Preferred
First Aid / CPR / Blood Borne Pathogens Training - Preferred
Experience :
Must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in construction
Knowledge of OSHA Regulations (Standards 29CFR, Part 1926; Safety and Health Regulations for Construction), EPA, and DOT standards required
Knowledge of EM-385-1-1
Experience with Maryland DGS is a plus
Design Build Construction
Essential Functions :
Develop Site Construction Safety Plan
Plan, organize and control the safety function of the project, ensuring effective accident prevention and loss control programs are maintained and that the appropriate measures are taken to comply with Corporate, Federal and State safety, health and environmental laws and directives
Conduct Safety Orientations for all employees on the project
Ensure the implementation of Accident Prevention Plans (APP)
Actively promote and support the health and safety programs at project sites
Oversee the completion of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) preparation and acceptance
Review all accidents that occur on the project site follow up the review with analysis of accident causes, how to prevent such accidents. As well as recommending disciplinary action as necessary
Conduct project inspections, maintaining files of such inspections and disseminating project inspection reports to concerned parties (i.e., Safety Department, Superintendent, Project Manager, etc.)
Order non-standard or specialized safety equipment needed on the project
Coordinate safety processes and procedures on the project and oversee safety of employees
Identify hazards / potential hazards on the project and work with the Safety Coordinator and other individuals to eliminate hazards / potential hazards
Attend Weekly Safety Planning Meetings on project and participates actively to ensure that employees are aware of safety hazards involved in the work that week and take necessary proactive measures to prevent injury
Other duties as may be assigned to support the project
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
Frequent standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl occasionally.
Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to include but limited to, wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
Position requires acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
Must be able to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height.
Must have the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
