Your role will involve handling cash, managing the point of sale (POS) system, and assisting customers with their purchases.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service throughout their shopping experience.
- Accurately process sales transactions using the POS system, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, products, and services to assist customers effectively.
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
- Assist in training new cashiers and supervising their performance as needed.
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate change is given to customers.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales or as a cashier is preferred but not required.
- Strong cash handling skills with an understanding of retail math principles.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer calls when necessary.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with stock management processes is a plus.
