POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursing Manager oversees and coordinates all nursing activities at Anthony’s Villa group home, ensuring high-quality care for residents through effective management, scheduling, and training of nursing staff. The Nursing Manager is responsible for medication management, client nursing intakes, quality control on nursing documentation, and collaboration with the clinical team to support residents' overall health and well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Nursing Staff Management
- Manage nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
- Provide training for nursing staff on proper medication administration and organizational policies.
- Conduct quality control reviews of nursing notes to ensure accuracy and compliance with documentation standards.
Medication Management
Input and manage client medications in the RTIS system, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.Monitor and address potential medication interactions to safeguard residents' health.Authorize and document PRN (as-needed) medication use, adhering to organizational protocols.Conduct monthly audits of medication administration records and provide findings to the Therapist for inclusion in monthly guardian reports.Client Care and Support
Conduct client nursing intakes to assess health needs and ensure proper care planning.Collaborate with the Therapist to review treatment plans for medical contraindications and sign off as required.Act as a member of the admissions team, contributing to client intake and onboarding processes.Emergency and On-Call Responsibilities
Remain on-call for urgent medical needs and provide support for health-related emergencies.Respond promptly to medical concerns, ensuring proper documentation and escalation when necessary.Compliance and Quality Improvement
Maintain compliance with all state and federal nursing standards, as well as organizational policies.Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nursing care and medication management practices.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Education and Licensure
Required : Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Ohio.Experience
Experience in nursing management or leadership roles, preferably in a residential or behavioral health setting.Strong understanding of medication administration, potential interactions, and nursing documentation standards.Skills and Knowledge
Proficiency in scheduling, training, and managing nursing staff.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage medication records, audits, and quality control.Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.Ability to remain calm and effective during medical emergencies and on-call situations.Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands : Regular standing, walking, and sitting; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.Work Environment : Primarily in a residential group home setting, with occasional travel for training or off-site activities.Benefits
