General Summary of Position
Anthony & Sylvan internship program offers a formative work experience opportunity for highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative college students to learn analytics and AI from the leading swimming pool company in the nation. The intern will gain experience in project-oriented tasks that improves the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
Potential Projects
Predictive Analytics:
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for predictive analytics, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure efficient data flow through the analytics environment (Azure).
- Clean, process, and prepare datasets from customer relationship management (CRM), project management, and general ledger software, etc for use in machine learning applications.
- Implement techniques for quality control such as feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, and handling missing data to maintain data integrity.
- Visualize data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential insights.
- Apply and fine-tune machine learning algorithms including regression, classification, time-series forecasting, and deep learning models to create predictions, documenting model performance and iterating based on feedback and results.
Generative AI:
- Contribute to the development of a large-scale image dataset for training generative AI models. Responsibilities include data collection, organization, and quality control.
- Support the training and fine-tuning of generative AI models using advanced techniques. This involves optimizing model performance and resource utilization.
- Develop and refine methods for translating user input into effective prompts for image generation. This includes exploring and implementing creative prompt engineering strategies.
- Design and implement image processing workflows to integrate generated designs into existing images. This may involve techniques for image segmentation, object detection, and depth estimation.
- Contribute to the development of a prototype system that leverages AI to generate realistic design visualizations.
After Internship:
- Internship will provide a sneak peek into potential career opportunities within our organization. We welcome successful Interns to apply for open roles following graduation.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, or related field.
- Completed sophomore year by the start of the internship with 3.5 GPA or higher
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy)
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and experience with frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Familiarity with data preprocessing techniques and ETL processes
- Possess excellent communication skills as well as leadership qualities
- Strong project management skills, such as setting deadlines, tracking progress, and communicating effectively with stakeholders
