What are the responsibilities and job description for the Anthropologie District Manager - Central California position at Anthropologie?
The Central California District Manager will lead and inspire 11 store teams throughout greater Los Angeles. District Managers take a forward-thinking and omni-channel approach to the retail experience. Their goal is to deliver a unique, community-driven, and entrepreneurial store culture by building on the 50-plus year trandition of URBN being a destination for customers in pursuit of creativity and an experiential environment.
Our ideal candidate will have 5 years of multi-store experience.
BRAND EXPERIENCE
Customer Engagement: ensures store teams deliver exceptional customer experiences that are engaging, personalized and efficient, creating a compelling atmosphere for our customer through the use of merchandising and display
Retail Experience: challenges and inspires store teams to elevate every aspect of the brick and mortar experience as brand and Omni channel capabilities expand; solicits ideas from employees and customers to translate good ideas into actionable concepts
Digital Influence: drives local brand exposure and store traffic through social media accounts, pack & ship, in-store and curbside pickup, and digital content that reflects the merchandising opportunities of the retail environment
Community & Culture: supports the stores’ execution of regional and special in-store events to drive brand awareness, community, culture, and customer engagement with our retail spaces and products
LEADERSHIP TEAM MANAGEMENT
Prioritize Talent: takes a forward-thinking approach to hiring and succession planning by developing a strategy for the teams based on store talent, business needs, and URBN’s DEI initiatives
Engagement & Retention: ensures the store team facilitates a thoughtful onboarding for new hires to drive a strong brand, customer, and store connection; engages in growth conversations with all levels of store teams to discuss career interests, cultivates an inclusive environment, and identify retention opportunities
Leadership Development: collaborates with store leadership to develop personalized training plans using creative strategies to build skills and expertise; provides timely and specific feedback that allows team members to thrive and grow while fostering a culture of problem solvers and people that take action
Employee Relations: Embraces and promotes the open-door policy; collaborates with Regional Leadership and Shared Services to address employee concerns with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality
VISUAL BUSINESS OPERATIONS
Entrepreneurship: assesses district and individual store business using company reporting tools to identify department and global opportunities to drive sales; effectively guides store leaders to make strategic, creative, and business-impacting decisions that creates store ownership
Operational Leadership: oversees and guides store leadership team to plan a strategic approach to daily, weekly, and monthly brand priorities; contributes to assessing accuracy and compliance of sales forecasting, staff scheduling, and payroll management
Visual Execution: fosters a strategic and creative community to lead timely and effective execution of visual priorities for the district; ensures Home Office direction is applied and delivers individual store feedback on structure, display, signage, merchandising, and outfitting execution
Asset Protection: adheres to programs that promote store safety standards, shrink reduction and company policy and procedure; supports the education of anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies to uphold URBN Code of Conduct
COMMUNICATION RELATIONSHIPS
Communication & Collaboration encourages independent thought, action, and information sharing amongst the team and their peers to create a result driven district strategy that is aligned with Regional and Home Office goals
Feedback Loop: inverts the hierarchal pyramid by keeping a two-way dialogue open at all times; displays confidence by sharing feedback to all levels of the organization
Digital Connection: works with new systems of communication to share ideas and information from a distance and communicate with multiple stores and teams at once; utilizes this to build community within the team and create a shared experience between Home Office and the field
Mentorship & Sharing: promotes an inclusive environment of mentorship and sharing, that encourages role success through dissemination of knowledge and a culture of peers teaching peers
