What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Substitute Teacher position at Antigo Child Care Inc?
Now Hiring: Substitute Teacher
We’re looking for a flexible, dependable, and caring Substitute Teacher to join our daycare team! This role is super important in keeping things running smoothly when one of our regular teachers is out—whether it’s for an hour or a full day. Sometimes we’ll know in advance, and other times it might be a last-minute call, so being adaptable is key!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Jumping into classrooms and keeping things on track using the day’s lesson plans or activities provided.
- Engaging with our kiddos in fun, hands-on learning—especially focused on early literacy and social-emotional development.
- Helping support children with all kinds of learning styles and needs, including those with autism or special education plans.
- Creating a safe, calm, and positive environment, even if it’s just for a short time.
- Communicating with our team about how the day went and anything we should know!
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children in a daycare, classroom, or similar setting.
- Someone who is comfortable following a plan—but also able to go with the flow if the day shifts.
- An understanding (or openness to learning) about different teaching styles like Montessori or special education strategies.
- Bonus if you’ve done lesson planning or worked with kids on reading/writing activities!
This is a great opportunity if you love working with kids but need a flexible schedule. You’ll be an important part of our team and help make sure our kiddos always have the support they need—whether for an hour or the whole day!
If this sounds like a fit for you, we’d love to connect!
