An Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk is responsible for providing support to the finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of incoming payments, maintaining records, and assisting with customer account management. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals starting their career in accounting or finance, focusing on basic administrative tasks related to accounts receivable operations.
Key Responsibilities:

- Receive, record, and apply customer payments (cash, checks, bank transfers) to appropriate accounts.
- Assist in daily posting of payments into the accounting system.
- Help generate and send customer invoices.
- Assist with tracking outstanding invoices and monitoring customer accounts.
- Support the reconciliation of customer accounts by checking balances and resolving basic discrepancies.
- Help prepare reports on outstanding balances and payment statuses.
- Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding payments, invoices, and account balances.
- Forward complex issues to senior staff or supervisors for resolution.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of transactions and communications.
- File and archive documentation related to accounts receivable activity.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
- Assist with end-of-month reporting and closing activities.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in accounting or related field is a plus).

- Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in accounts receivable, general accounting, or clerical roles (internships or part-time work in finance are a bonus).
