Salary :
A Crane Operator (Terminal) is responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials or equipment within the yard or terminal. This role will primarily be operating a tracked boom crane at a Marine Terminal, transferring containers between the ship and the shore. The role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and coordination with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Crane Operation :
Safely operate cranes to lift, move, and place cargo, materials, or equipment.
Conduct pre-operation checks on cranes to ensure they are in safe working condition.
Coordinate with signalers or spotters to lift and position loads accurately.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on cranes, such as lubrication and inspections.
Work closely with yard supervisors, laborers, and other operators to ensure efficient operations.
Keep logs of crane activities, including loads handled and maintenance performed.
Skills and Qualifications :
Proficient in operating different types of cranes (e.g., overhead, mobile, or gantry cranes).
Ability to operate cranes precisely and safely in confined or busy spaces.
Capability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing and climbing.
Clear communication with team members and adherence to hand signals or radio instructions.
