Job Title: Technical Director
Location: Antioch Bible Church – Mobile on Sundays, Office-Based During the Week
Reports to: Worship Pastor / Senior Pastor
Position Summary:
The Technical Director is responsible for the planning, setup, and operation of all technical systems that support the church’s worship services, events, and day-to-day operations. This includes audio, video, lighting, live streaming, and IT support. The role requires flexibility and initiative to handle the unique needs of a mobile church on Sundays and oversee and maintain the technical infrastructure of a stationary office during the week.
Key Responsibilities:
Sunday Setup & Execution (Mobile Site):
- Lead the setup, operation, and teardown of all A/V, lighting, and streaming systems at the mobile Sunday venue.
- Ensure equipment is transported, functioning, and optimized for the worship experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time.
- Coordinate with the worship team and pastors to ensure seamless production.
Weekday Office Responsibilities (Stationary Site):
- Maintain and service all church-owned technical equipment during the week.
- Prepare content and systems for Sunday use (slides, tracks, lighting presets, etc.).
- Handle all office-related IT and tech support needs, including:
- Maintaining office Wi-Fi and internet reliability.
- Managing staff computers, printers, and software updates.
- Setting up and maintaining digital storage systems and backups.
- Assisting staff with tech troubleshooting and equipment needs.
- Support in-office meetings or events with A/V setup and tech assistance.
- Oversee and maintain internal communication tools, video conferencing setups, and church management software integrations.
- Coordinate any vendor relationships for IT services or repairs.
Team & Project Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and schedule volunteer tech teams for Sunday services and special events.
- Develop clear documentation and processes for all tech systems.
- Stay up to date on relevant tech trends and recommend improvements.
Qualifications:
- Experience with live production equipment and software (e.g., ProPresenter, Ableton, audio consoles, video switchers, etc.).
- General IT proficiency including computer setup, networking, troubleshooting, and office tech support.
- Ability to manage and maintain both live-event gear and in-office technical systems.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with a heart for ministry and excellence in support of the Gospel.
Other Requirements:
- Must be available Sunday mornings and flexible throughout the week.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Agreement with and embodiment of Antioch Bible Church’s mission, values, and statement of faith.
