Full-time English or Math Teacher for 5-6 Graders

Job description

Antioch Christian Summer Academy is looking for a dynamic and experienced Teacher to join our team. Our Teachers are responsible for teaching students in a classroom setting, assisting with various activities, and providing general classroom support in a Christian church environment.

Core duties and responsibilities:

• Must be available at 9 AM - 3PM from July 8th- August 15 (six weeks).
• Provides support to students in the classroom setting by following lesson plans/handouts, helping students understand concepts, and participating in class activities.
• Provides support to the school’s Head Teacher by working with the school's Director on issues regarding student behavior, curriculum, and classroom management.
• Participates in planning lesson plans/handouts for classes and assisting in class discussions.
• Provides feedback to teachers on student performance and provides feedback to parents regarding student progress.
• Supports the school's mission and vision by working with the school's Director to maintain a clean, safe, orderly, and orderly school environment for students at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least a Junior in college.
• Knowledge of child development methods and methods of teaching English language arts or Math
• Ability to work with children from all social backgrounds and socioeconomic levels
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) as well as active listening.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure with a large group of students.
• Strong organization skills.
• Previous experience in teaching or other educational fields preferred but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
