BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director Special Education, assist with screening, assessing, and providing therapy to students with a variety of speech and language disabilities; perform a variety of clerical duties in support of speech and language services Schedule activities, prepare charts and records, prepare teaching aids, perform checks and maintenance of equipment, type, and duplicate material for classroom use, and assist with scheduling (SEE ATTACHED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS). We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees.

The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. CSEA Salary Range 141: Step A $39.27 (Min.) to Step F $50.26 (Max.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Level 3 - Salary Range 141 : AA degree or completion of 2 year college certification program for Speech/Language Pathologist Assistants and eligible for a State Speech /Language Pathologist Assistant License or possession of a BA degree in Speech and Language Pathology with 80 hours of clinical supervision.
