Description
SUMMARY:
Ensures the well-being of our guests within the Gold Rush Water Park and Back Forty Swimmin’ Hole facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies, keeping pool areas clean, answering guest questions, and enforcing policies, rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the Gold Rush Water Park and Back Forty Swimmin’ Hole.
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Enforce safety rules and regulations according to Ellis policies and safety procedures.
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Monitor all slide participants to ensure safety.
- Communicate with slide attendant at the bottom of the slide to ensure safety of slide participants.
- Remain in position on stand during proper rotation cycle.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, pre- and post-shift checks.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Present professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintain a high standard of customer service.
- Communicate safety issues to the proper supervisor.
- Cleaning duties while on shift, including picking up trash, sweeping, scrubbing, and cleaning surfaces, picking up tubes, and other miscellaneous cleaning tasks.
- Attend mandatory meetings and in-service training as scheduled.
- Customer service duties include checking in of guests, waiver verification, selling retail items, and operating the cash register.
Directly reports to the Aquatics Manager
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Current Ellis Lifeguard Certification verifiable in Pectora.
- Must be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, to members and staff with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures.
- Basic math skills including proper handling of cash.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
