Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes for various occasions including birthdays, weddings, and special events.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and preferences for cake designs.
- Prepare and mix ingredients for cake batters and frostings according to recipes.
- Prepare baked goods like cupcakes, macarons, brownies, donuts and other baked goods as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating area and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all cakes and baked goods are decorated in accordance with company standards for quality and presentation.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies needed for cake decoration and baking.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to cake orders.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely production and delivery of cakes.
- Work closely with ownership to roll out new products and keep costs low.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cake decorating, baking or a related field is preferred.
- Strong artistic skills with an eye for detail in design and presentation.
- Knowledge of various decorating and baking techniques, tools, and materials.
- Experience in food service or casual dining environments is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Familiarity with restaurant management practices is beneficial but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with the capability of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to manage staff, set schedules and handle employee conflict.
