Description
Under general direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineering Intern is responsible for identifying opportunities for improving manufacturing efficiency, designing tooling and fixtures, and identifying root cause and implementing mistake proofing and read-across solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Design tooling and fixturing for increasing efficiency in operations
- Ensure manufacturability of product designs by working with engineers and prototype technicians
- Provide recommendations and/or custom solutions for project-specific applications
- Assist assembly, fabrication, and controls departments as needed in implementing and/or improving manufacturing techniques
- Perform routing updates
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
- Create Capital Appropriation Requests
- Submit Engineering Change Requests
- Identify Total Preventative Maintenance gaps and implement corrective actions
- Assist in developing and ordering spare parts for key capital equipment
- Develop standard work and update work instructions
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, value stream mapping, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Document what has been learned and accomplished throughout the internship
- Present this information, along with any thoughts and comments about the internship experience, at the end of the internship term

Qualifications
