Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various medical settings, including outpatient facilities, Level I Trauma Centers, and inpatient care. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical staff across multiple specialties, including Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Urgent Care, Hospital Medicine, and Geriatrics. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care while ensuring a positive experience for all patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for their appointments by obtaining vital signs and medical histories.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and document accordingly.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and medication instructions.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Support the healthcare team in various administrative tasks as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with outpatient care settings and Level I Trauma Center protocols is advantageous.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric (PICU) and geriatric patients.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Urgent Care, Hospital Medicine, and Geriatrics is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
