What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Business Partner position at Anvil Corporation?
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manages full-cycle recruitment for a variety of positions, from job posting to interview scheduling and candidate selection. Oversees the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including interns.
- Employee Relations: Serves as a point of contact for employee concerns, addresses workplace issues, and provides guidance to managers and staff on company policies and procedures. Promotes a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Performance Management: Assists in the development and implementation of performance management programs, including performance appraisals, goal-setting, and feedback processes. Supports managers in addressing performance issues and employee development, providing advice to managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee relations issues. Addresses grievances and conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- HR Policies & Compliance: Ensures company policies and procedures are up to date with current legal and regulatory requirements. Provides guidance on employment law and best practices to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
- Leave of Absence: Coordinates employee leave of absence programs including FMLA, state/local paid leave, short- and long-term disability, and workers compensation while addressing multi-state compliance. Provides individualized support and communication to employees.
- Training & Development: Coordinates and supports employee development programs, including training sessions, workshops, and leadership development initiatives.
- Time Tracking, Compensation & Benefits: Responds to general inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and timecards from employees and management.
- HR Reporting & Analytics: Maintains accurate employee records and HR data. Assists in generating reports related to turnover, retention, employee engagement, and other key HR metrics.
- Employee Engagement: Promotes initiatives that enhance employee engagement and morale, such as recognition programs, surveys, and team activities.
- Other: Provides backup support to HR Manager, HR & Safety Coordinator, and Sr Recruiter, as needed. Other duties as assigned.
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and take ownership over assigned responsibilities.
- Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
- 4 years of human resources experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in a fast-paced or growing organization.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP a plus.
- Able to sit/stand, type, perform computer work, and answer incoming calls for long periods of time.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering phones.
- Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
