Part-time Phlebotomist

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws and collecting samples from patients, ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict laboratory protocols.

Duties

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood sampling in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood collection process, providing clear instructions and support.
• Maintain accurate records of patient information, specimen collection, and laboratory procedures.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent contamination.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure proper handling, labeling, and transportation of specimens.
• Monitor vital signs as necessary and report any abnormalities to the appropriate medical personnel.
• Stay updated on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and laboratory techniques relevant to phlebotomy practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures.
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and blood sampling methods.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and safety protocols in a laboratory setting.
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare environment.
• Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory.
