The Personal Training and Experience Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the gym's personal training services, including conducting all fitness consultations, selling training packages, and managing the training team. This role ensures a seamless client experience by overseeing trainer schedules, client accounts, and the overall effectiveness of the personal training department.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive fitness consultations for all new and prospective members, assessing their goals, fitness levels, and needs.
- Develop and present customized training packages, effectively communicating the value of personal training services.
- Drive sales by meeting and exceeding personal and team training revenue goals.
- Maintain a high conversion rate from consultations to training clients through strong relationship-building and motivational coaching.
- Oversee personal trainers, ensuring they provide high-quality coaching and adhere to gym standards.
- Manage trainer schedules, ensuring optimal availability for clients and balanced workloads for trainers.
- Track and manage client accounts, including payments, session tracking, and renewals, to ensure accuracy and retention.
- Monitor and analyze training department performance, adjusting strategies to maximize success.
- Collaborate with gym staff to promote training programs and maximize member engagement.
- Stay updated on fitness trends, techniques, and certifications to ensure the highest level of expertise within the training team.
Position Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED
· 3 years of personal training or sales experience required
· Certified personal trainer from a nationally accredited organization (i.e. NASM, ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc)
· CPR, First Aid and AED Certified
- Availability to work evenings
· Knowledge of fitness, endurance training, strength/power training and program design, using the tools given to optimize client results
· Strong ability to coach and manage time, motivating multiple clients in a group setting
· Desire and capacity to coach all fitness levels
· Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of a class and be able to bend, stand, reach, climb and lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or health related field
· Strong sales experience
