We are looking for an experienced Area Manager to organize and oversee the operations of a number of locations. You will assume responsibility for the overall success of the locations by setting targets, supervising location managers, and ensuring they are attained. Effective area managers are skilled in managing diverse operations from a distance. They have a strategic mindset and are excellent leaders. Excellent abilities in financial and operations planning are essential for the role. The goal is to ensure our locations will meet and exceed expectations of business development and efficiency.
Position Overview:
The Area Manager is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational and financial success of multiple fitness facilities. As a broad overview, this individual will ensure that each club meets company standards for member satisfaction, staff engagement, revenue growth, and community involvement.
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all locations, ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
- Monitor club performance metrics, including membership growth, retention, and profitability.
- Implement initiatives to improve underperforming locations and maintain high- performing ones.
- Responsible for coordinating club coverage, staff schedules, and time off.
Team Development:
- Approximately 20-25% of time is expected to be spent in the office, while the remaining 75-80% will be dedicated to mentoring staff within the clubs.
- Hire, train, and mentor club managers and staff to create a high-performing, cohesive team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and support staff development through coaching and feedback and communicating company changes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive club culture aligned with Anytime Fitness values.
Strategic Planning:
- Attend weekly Upper Management and monthly Manager meetings to discuss areas of improvement, role-play challenging scenarios, and build managers’ skills.
- Collaborate with ownership to develop and execute regional business strategies.
- Set performance goals for each location and track progress through data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth and minimize attrition.
- Lead community engagement initiatives and fundraising events to strengthen brand visibility and local impact.
Member Experience:
- Ensure exceptional member experiences across all locations, focusing on personalized service, clean facilities, and a welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of multi-site management experience, preferably in the fitness or service industry.
- Proven track record of driving growth and improving operational performance.
- Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for health and fitness and a commitment to fostering community well-being.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in sales, marketing, or fundraising.
- Knowledge of fitness industry trends and best practices.
- Familiarity with performance analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Position Type:
- This position is full-time (44 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with occasional availability required on Saturdays & Sundays.
