Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to assist in the development and implementation of educational programs, particularly for students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities and autism. This role is essential in ensuring that all students receive the guidance and support they need to thrive academically and socially.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and adapting curriculum to meet the needs of individual students.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with disabilities or autism, to enhance their learning experiences.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, structured environment conducive to learning.
- Support the development of educational materials and resources that align with curriculum goals.
- Facilitate small group activities and provide additional assistance during math, literacy, and other subject areas.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and engagement.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or private school environments is a plus.
- Experience in curriculum development or classroom management will be beneficial.
- Knowledge of strategies for working with students who have disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- A background in teaching math or preschool education can enhance your candidacy.
