This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment, particularly for students with diverse needs, including those with autism and other special education requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Support students in their learning by providing individualized attention and guidance.
- Manage classroom behavior by promoting positive interactions and addressing any challenges that arise.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop curriculum and adapt materials to meet the needs of all learners.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.
- Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Participate in the development of behavioral management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development and special education practices.
Requirements
- Experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of lesson planning and curriculum development is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is a plus.
- Familiarity with toddler care principles and childhood development practices is beneficial.
