We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse to join our educational team. The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting student health and wellness, ensuring a safe environment for all students. Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate students' health needs through regular health screenings and patient assessments.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each student, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while monitoring students for any adverse reactions.
- Provide first aid care for injuries or illnesses that occur during school hours.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions.
- Educate students on health-related topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and physical activity.
- Monitor vital signs and manage emergency situations effectively.
- Participate in the development of school health policies and programs to promote overall student wellness.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices.
- Experience in patient assessment techniques, including taking vital signs.
- Familiarity with medical records management systems.
- Knowledge of outpatient care procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a school environment, demonstrating strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
- Previous experience in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or operating room (OR) settings is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
