Job Summary:
As a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help individuals improve their communication skills. You will assist in therapy sessions, implement treatment plans, and provide support to clients and families in various settings, including schools and healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting speech and language screenings under SLP supervision.
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP.
- Provide direct therapy services to clients, focusing on speech, language, and communication goals.
- Document client progress and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with SLPs, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate and support clients, caregivers, and families in communication strategies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding speech therapy services.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or a related field.
Certification: Valid Massachusetts SLPA License.
Experience: Prior experience in school-based or clinical speech therapy settings is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with therapy tools and assistive communication devices is a plus.
