Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Structural Engineer with 3 years of experience at AO Engineers in Fort Thomas, KY. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for conducting calculations, structural analysis, and utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software for various engineering projects. Our team focuses on a high volume of residential and small commercial projects with diverse scopes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3 years of structural engineering experience
- P.E. license preferred; will consider EIT's with exceptional communication and observational skills
- Familiar with concrete, structural steel, and wood design
- Comfortable with the outdoors, accessing crawl spaces and attic spaces
- Hybrid office and home workstation
- Vehicle and drivers license for meeting clients 2 to 3 days weekly
- Strong background in Calculations and Structural Analysis
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Day in the Life
Meet with multiple clients weekly at their residence in the Greater Cincinnati area to discuss their structural concerns or proposed projects in a consultant role. Collect site information and clearly explain observations, scope, and solutions to clients in clear and simple language. Return to office and draft written assessments reports or design documents to client for proposed foundation repairs, deck designs, retaining walls, additions, interior framing modifications, etc. Manage project workload and client expectation. Daily work hours are often flexible.
