Description
The Urology Medical Assistant assists with office procedures as directed by physicians, taking vitals, draw blood (phlebotomy), handles lab telephone calls, and more at The Essentials Center. This role serves as a liaison between the patients, physicians/providers, and other staff members.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Ordering supplies/ stocking rooms
- Run urinalysis tests, vitals, etc.
- Liaison between the patients/physicians/ other staff
- Prepping records/patient charts for clinic
- Cleaning of instruments
- Chaperoning during exams
- Assisting with clinic procedures
- Lab ordering
Requirements
Experience and Education
*Candidates for this position are required to have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.*
- MA, CMA, or Phlebotomy certification required
- 1 year phlebotomy experienced preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Medical Terminology knowledge
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to perform venipunctures, phlebotomies, and other procedures as indicated
- Ability to comply with OSHA and HIPAA policies
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Exceptional customer service and patient-interaction skills
