We are looking for a 2nd Shift Team Lead that will coordinate operations in our Fabrication manufacturing area in supporting Supervisors with day-to-day management, in effectively leading a group of employees and in ensuring efficient operations through achieving plant metrics (safety, quality, delivery and cost).
Starting pay is $19.67/hour with evaluations every 90 days that can lead to pay increases- 2nd Shift hours are roughly 1:30 - 2:00 pm to 11:30 - 12:00 am, including some Saturdays, depending on overtime needs
- Would be enrolled in A. O. Smith's Team Lead leadership training program
Responsibilities:
- Track and understand production metrics (KPIs), conduct meetings and create reports for shift handover and problem escalation
- Plan and lead production activities in assigned area
- Plan and coordinate employee training
- Ensure that all checks on product and equipment are performed according to established procedures
- Conduct problem solving projects and identify potential for process improvements
- Lead and motivate team members, to ensure optimum line performance and highest quality levels
- Be available before and after the assigned shift hours to all preparation is complete and handover to other shifts is successful
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required or GED equivalency
- 3 years of manufacturing industry experience
- Demonstrate strong safety, quality, productivity, performance, attendance and adherence to company policies
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to ensure stable operations of the assigned functional areas
- Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communication
- Proficiency with MS Office and demonstrated working knowledge of SAP
- Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement experience a strong plus

Proven welding experience
- Ability to ASME certify, TIG certify and certify in robotics
- Ability to understand and apply all standard resistance and MIG welding techniques
- Willingness to work overtime as required depending on business need
