Position Summary:
The Landscape Gardener 1 position is an entry-level role focused on supporting landscaping projects through basic gardening and maintenance tasks. This role involves working under the supervision of more senior team members to ensure outdoor spaces are well-maintained and meet project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planting and Maintenance: Assist with planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses; support pruning, weeding, and basic lawn care activities.
- Turf Management: Perform routine tasks such as mowing, edging, and raking.
- Site Preparation: Help clear debris, level areas, and prepare soil for planting.
- Weed Control: Remove weeds from flower beds, lawns, and other landscaped areas.
- Basic Equipment Use: Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and basic power tools under supervision.
- Irrigation Support: Assist with maintaining and adjusting irrigation systems as directed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Team Assistance: Provide general labor support to Landscape Gardener 2 and other team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: No prior experience required, but some exposure to gardening or landscaping is preferred.
