Job Overview
Kai Malu at Wailea is looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician to oversee and perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks. You’ll play a key role in preserving the appearance, function, and safety of our residential community. This is a hands-on position for a motivated individual who takes pride in their work and thrives in a residential setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs: carpentry, minor plumbing, electrical, painting, and janitorial tasks.
- Maintain community areas: pool, spa, gym, locker rooms, pavilion, parking lots, and trash enclosures.
- Complete preventative maintenance and respond to work orders.
- Inspect and maintain lighting, ballasts, and transformers monthly.
- Clean and organize Hale and fitness areas daily (before 7 AM).
- Power wash restrooms, decks, and mold-affected areas as needed.
- Maintain and monitor equipment, tools, and golf carts.
- Perform in-unit repairs when required by the Association.
- Keep detailed maintenance records and communicate with management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of tools, safety practices, and repair techniques.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders up to 20 ft.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Able to pass background check and drug test.
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with strong communication skills.
- Must be available for occasional on-call support.
- Pool Operator Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading blueprints or building codes.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently.
Schedule
- Full-time

- Occasional on-call or weekend hours as needed
