Located in Catonsville, Maryland, St. Mark School is seeking highly qualified candidates for a 6th Grade Language Arts teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This middle school language arts position is one of 3 teachers on our middle school language arts team. The position teaches three sections of language arts for 90 minutes per section each day. The middle school language arts teacher also is part of a collaborative middle school department which includes teachers of all middle school courses. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing Chromebooks, BenQ Presentation board, and G-Suite applications.
Essential Functions:

Follow the AOB curriculum and best practices in the development of daily instructional plans.

Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments by demonstrating a willingness to respond to individual learning needs.

Collaborate with grade-level teachers to enhance and support instructional planning as well as collaborating with content area teachers on cross-curricular assignments.

Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.

Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom.

Expertly integrate G Suite for Education into a 21st-century classroom.

Meet the needs, interests, and abilities of students in accordance with the curriculum. Effective instruction will include differentiated learning.

Implement lesson plans utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge, and engage students.

Safely and actively supervise students both inside and outside of the classroom.

Maintain consistent and accurate records of student achievement
- Perform various non-teaching related duties such as recess, lunch, etc.
Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree minimum – Master’s preferred

Prior teaching experience in Catholic school setting preferred

MSDE Certified or ability to achieve certification

Experience with elementary/middle school age students and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.

Knowledge of curriculum, and principles and practices of pedagogy

Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as enriching and differentiating instruction

Range: $45,600 – 67,937, Annualized
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
