St. Philip Neri School is looking for an Academic Interventionist who would be part of a dynamic team, working to meet the needs of every student in a diverse population. In coordination with teachers and administration, the Academic Interventionist provides in class and pull-out support for students needing support or enrichment. The position includes communication and record keeping, as well as serving on the student Advocacy Team.
Essential Functions
- Work with individual and small groups of students in and outside of the classroom
- Maintain records of student progress
- Coordinate with classroom teachers and school administrators
- As a member of the Student Advocacy Team; help to identify students needing assistance or challenge work and provide resources
- Provide support and resources to teachers and students
- Attend IEP meetings
- Attend Parent/Teacher conferences
Position Qualifications
- Passion for helping students
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Willingness to research resources and best practices
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Current MSDE certification or ability to achieve required certification
- Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals, and objectives
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn about the integration of technology into lessons
- Practicing Catholic preferred
