St. Mary Parish, located in Annapolis, Maryland, seeks qualified candidates for a Bi-Lingual Hispanic Faith Formation Assistant. In this part-time position, you will assist with the administrative needs of Evangelization Team (Family Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, and Sacramental Preparation). Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish in both written and verbal communication. This is a 10 hour weekly, non-benefit eligible position, working evening and weekend hours. This position reports to the Coordinator of Hispanic Ministry & Religious Education.
Essential Functions
- Acting as the main liaison between parishioners and the Evangelization Team
- Responding to and following up with team program inquiries
- Maintaining mandated records
- Creating/reviewing/translating documents
- Accepting/recording program payments
- Be available for a flexible work schedule to include some evenings and/or weekends.
Position Qualifications
To be considered in this role, you should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Bilingual and biliterate (Spanish & English)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a professional office environment
- Able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher)
- Experience with database management
- Ability to learn and implement new software quickly
- A practicing Catholic and missionary disciple of Jesus Christ required
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Experience with social media, graphic design, email marketing platforms (such as Flock Notes and Constant Contact), etc.
