Under general direction of the Facilities Manager, the full-time Facilities Maintenance will oversee the maintenance of the building. This includes the primary fields of electrical. heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, plumbing, etc.
Essential Functions
- Performs basic and routine maintenance, construction, and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards.
- Assist with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall, and carpentry, installation of fixtures and moving furniture or materials within the facilities.
- Maintaining organization in Facilities spaces.
- Consistently communicating work progress or any problems to the Facilities Manager.
- Utilizing Personal Protective Equipment and practicing safe work habits, including lock-out/tag-out.
- Snow removal and other seasonal tasks, as required.
- Assist with traffic control and parking as requested.
- Other duties as assigned necessitated by school operations.
Position Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with no more than 3 current points.
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial or institutional experience in the identified primary field.
- Possession of journey-level certification.
- Must be able to move furniture, equipment and other materials weighing up to and more than 100lbs.; to move about within very tight spaces where large and potentially dangerous equipment is stored; to operate various types of manual and power tools and automated systems; and to ascend/descend a ladder as needed.
