St. Philip Neri School is seeking a part-time Spanish teacher. The Spanish teacher's responsibilities include preparing lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on the Spanish language and culture. She/he should also be able to supervise lessons to ensure that learners interact in a supportive and respectful manner. The teacher would need to be comfortable with technology integration utilizing Chromebook and G-Suite applications. The Spanish Teacher will instruct students on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Essential Functions
- Provides grade-appropriate instructional Spanish program for students.
- Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Curriculum.
- Provides grade-appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of student's progress and development.
- Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff, and administration
- Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during, or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention, and any other duties assigned by the administration.
- Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or higher
- Current MSDE certification or able to obtain certification within two years
- Prior successful teaching experience grade level education
- Knowledge of the Catholic faith preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable with technology to include GSuite, Google Classroom, Interactive projectors, etc.
