Immaculate Heart of Mary School seeks a full-time STEAM and Religion Teacher. This individual would be responsible for all STEAM curriculum instruction for grade-level students as well as planning and implementing standards-based Religion lessons as prescribed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Essential Functions
- Provides grade-appropriate instructional program for students that adheres to the school’s philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Develop lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study in STEM and the ISTE standards.
- Management and upkeep of the Makerspace materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with other subjects on creating and implementing projects in the Makerspace.
- Act as an advisor and be committed to playing an active role in growing our STEM Program.
- Follow the guidelines and tenants of the Catholic Church and the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
- Create and implement lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge, engage, and inspire students to think confidently and independently.
- Be responsible for the safety and active supervision of students.
- Integrate the use of technology effectively into the curriculum.
- Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform recess and lunch duties as scheduled.
- Support the Catholic spirituality and mission of the school.
- Attend various school events such as Back to School Night, graduation, and Open House.
Position Qualifications
- Holds an MSDE Teaching Certification
- BA/BS in education, science, technology, engineering, or another related field (Advanced degree preferred but not required)
- Share a deep passion for technology, engineering, and problem-solving
- Experience with coding, robotics, 3D printers, and drones
- Must be proficient in using a variety of technologies during daily lessons as well as enriching and differentiating instruction
- Must maintain strong classroom management skills for project-based learning
- Must be an active, practicing Catholic fully able to participate in the life of the Church
- Availability to serve as STEAM coordinator of clubs or special events preferred, but not required
Range: $46,000 - $70,000 Annualized
