What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Leadman position at AOC, LLC?
AOC is seeking an experienced Lab Leadman for our Gelcoats & Colorants plant. This position reports directly to the Technical Leader. Must be available to work all shifts and overtime as necessary.
Quality Testing
- Perform quality control testing for products and intermediates
- Adjust product batches to meet manufacturing specifications
- Ensure products meet customer specifications before shipment
- Responsible for identifying non-conforming product
- Responsible for communicating the occurrence of a non-conforming batch
Training and Supervision
- Responsible for the ongoing training of new lab personnel
- Highlight and address issues preventing the completion of on-time delivery, requesting assistance from Technical Leader, lab personnel, or others as necessary.
- Review production schedule requirements, special testing, and/or lab formulation requests. Determine QC Lab priorities for the shift duration and request assistance if the available manpower is not sufficient to meet commitments
Documentation and Records
- Perform end-of-the-shift paperwork such as C of As and data entry into the computer database
- Ensure that batch testing documentation is filled out completely and accurately
- Ensure that paper quality batch records are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion
Safety
- Ensure all work is performed safely by always using the required tools and PPE
- Responsible for notifying management of any environmental, health, and safety concerns
- Responsible for maintaining the overall housekeeping, cleanliness, and organization of the lab
Quality Systems & Technology
- Responsible for interacting with computerized data management systems related to lab functions.
- Responsible for communications via email
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years work experience is required
- Must be computer literate and have experience with Excel and Word computer programs.
- Must be able to learn to use AOC programs such as Qube.
- Must possess the ability to work independently, demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, and perform well as an efficient member of the QC Lab team.
- Must have basic math skills and be proficient with a calculator.
- Must meet periodical safety, environmental, and operational training requirements.
- Must be able to handle 5-gallon pails and lift a minimum of 50 lbs. at times.
