What are the responsibilities and job description for the HUD Inspector position at Aoka Engineering?
Introduction:
Aoka Engineering provides various services to federal, state, and local governments. We are looking to hire an inspector that can conduct physical inspection of multi-family units (apartment buildings and health care facilities) to ensure it meets the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program standards.
Qualification:
- Excellent communication skills employed successfully in communicating with clients.
- Willingness to travel to perform inspections.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Associates or a Bachelor’s degree.
- ICC license, or engineering license, or architectural license is required.
- Or at least Five (5) years of experience in multifamily housing design or construction or inspection. Either one of those experiences will suffice.
Responsibilities:
- Scheduling and conducting multi-family housing pay app inspections of new construction or substantial rehabilitation.
- Evaluating the units for compliance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) as set by HUD.
- Completing inspection reports and any other related paperwork according to the requirements set forth.
- Providing excellent customer service by interacting with clients respectfully and courteously.
- Meeting client needs and educating the contractors and property owners about the program and their inspection status.
- Attending company training and following any guidelines, policies, and directives.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $30-$60 per hour as per experience and qualifications
