Aoka Engineering is a third party municipal service and software provider that works to assist local jurisdictions. We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving our company's growth and expanding our client base. The ideal candidate will be in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with prospects, working closely with the marketing teams to achieve sales targets.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of business development or sales experience, with a focus on services to governmental agencies or within the construction, building inspection, or municipal sector.
- Knowledge of Local Jurisdictions: Familiarity with the building code enforcement process, building departments, inspection services, and plan reviews is highly desirable.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and manage complex sales cycles, especially with governmental entities.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable with technology, software solutions, and the ability to understand and communicate complex products to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong, lasting relationships with government officials and stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. MBA preferred.
- Travel: Ability to travel within Texas and across the United States as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Lead Generation: Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities with local jurisdictions, municipalities, and governmental agencies involved in building inspection and plan review.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including building department officials, city planners, architects, and contractors, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies, including market research, outreach, and negotiations, to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
- Product & Market Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert for our building department services and software solutions, effectively communicating the benefits and capabilities of our products to potential clients.
- Collaborative Approach: Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure seamless onboarding and exceptional service delivery to new clients.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitors, and government regulations impacting local jurisdictions’ building departments. Provide feedback to senior leadership for continuous improvement.
- Presentations & Demos: Deliver compelling presentations and product demos to local government entities, showcasing the value of our solutions and how they can improve inspection and plan review workflows.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation process for contracts and agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms for both parties.
Compensation and Benefits
